Libertarians at Peace Fest

The Chicago Libertarian Party Meetup Group

Join us Saturday evening after the Libertarian National Committee meets all day in Rosemont. Whether or not you attend the meeting, here’s your chance to meet the members of the LNC in an informal setting. Let’s raise a glass and discuss the topics we hold dear.

We’ll be gathering at Basil’s, at the Embassy Suites, 5500 N. River Road, Rosemont, IL 60018.

There is no charge to attend, but plan to pay for anything you eat and/or drink. Please RSVP so we have an idea how many people will attend. Validated parking is available at the hotel for $10, and the CTA Blue line is not far away.

We’ve chosen this location because the meetings will take place at this hotel during the day Saturday and Sunday. If you’re interested in attending the meeting, there is a separate meetup event we’ve created for that.

Meet the Libertarian National Committee

The Chicago Libertarian Party Meetup Group

The Libertarian National Committee holds its meetings in various locations, both for the convenience of its members, and to afford local residents the opportunity to attend. In March the LNC will hold its meeting in Rosemont.

The meetings are open to anyone and free to attend (except during executive sessions when the room is cleared). There is time for public comment at the beginning of the meeting on Sat and at the close of the meeting Sun. If someone who is not on the LNC would like to speak outside of the public comment segments, they need to ask permission via their LNC Regional Rep. The Rep then asks permission from the board on their behalf.

Details of the meeting are not yet available. On Saturday, the meeting normally starts at 8 am and finishes around 6 pm. Sunday they start at 8 or 9 a.m. and go to 3 pm or so. Typically Saturday a.m. is reports from the Chair, Vice Chair, Treasurer and Staff. Additional reports from various committees and regions may follow in the afternoon. Then they get to action items (like committee appointments) Saturday afternoon and take on ‘new business” on Sunday.

The meetings are scheduled to be held in the “Walden Room” on the 8th floor.

There will also be a Meet & Greet reception nearby on Friday or Saturday evening. Details will follow and a separate meetup will be posted.

The Chicago Libertarian Party Meetup Group

Come join us for the first Monthly Meetup with our new elected officers. It’s not a formal business meeting, but we’ll be discussing goals and ideas for 2013. (Bring yours to share.)

As a special treat, our friend Michael Badnarik plans to attend. Michael was the Libertarian candidate for President of the United States in 2004, and has been a longtime friend of the Libertarian Party of Chicago.

This is not a lecture, but Michael will be pleased to share with you what he’s been up to since we saw him last, and he will bring copies of his new book, Secret to Sovereignty. Not surprisingly, this book is available for barter only for 1 ounce of silver.

Come spend an evening with your fellow Libertarians over one of those giant mugs of beer. (Or not.) Actually, there is a full dinner menu available, and all ages may attend.

Feel free to show up any time after 6:00. The Lincoln Restaurant is near the intersection of Lincoln, Irving Park and Damen. There is free parking in the back.

Come join us for our last Monthly Meetup of the year. As a special treat, our friend Michael Badnarik will be in attendance. Michael was the Libertarian candidate for President in 2004, and has been a longtime friend of the Libertarian Party of Chicago.

This is not a lecture, but Michael will be more than pleased to share with you what he’s been up to since we saw him last, and, if all goes as planned, he will bring copies of his new book, Secret to Sovereignty. Not surprisingly, this book is available for barter for silver only. :)

Also, start thinking about getting more involved in the party. Officer elections will be held at the January meeting, and all offices are up for election!
