Announcing the Midwest Liberty Fest: Activism, Education and Celebration

The DuQuoin (IL) State Fairgrounds will be brought to life by the Spirit of Liberty on October 9, 10 and 11 as grassroots activists from across the political spectrum and across the nation gather for the Midwest Liberty Fest. Participants will have the opportunity to learn from successful activists, hear from current candidates and celebrate the growing movement toward freedom and constitutional government.

The planning committee, sponsored by the Liberty Restoration Project, consists of activists who decided to provide the public with an event centered around ideas that unite us instead of divide us. The goal is to empower concerned citizens through the knowledge and real experiences of successful movers and shakers; everyone should be able to walk away with action items and project ideas in hand!

Some of the most well-known names in the liberty movement will be paired with up-and-coming leaders. From Adam Kokesh, the Iraq veteran and anti-war activist turned Congressional Candidate, to Michael Badnarik, the 2004 Libertarian candidate for President and Constitutional Scholar, to Sheriff Richard Mack, the man educating our nation’s law enforcement on their Constitutional role, attendees will have the opportunity to learn from some serious movers and shakers.

Donations will provide transportation for speakers, location rental and insurance costs, and promotional materials such as radio and television ads. All ages can attend.

The Chicago Libertarian Party starts its business meetings at 7pm. The business typically takes about an hour to get through, after which we stay around for a couple of hours socializing.

Feel free to show up any time after 6:00. The business portion of the meeting is open for everyone to attend. Now is a great time to get involved, as we work begin the groundwork for local elections in 2010.

The Lincoln Restaurant is near the intersection of Lincoln, Irving Park and Damen. There is parking, and I believe that the Irving Park brown line station is open again.

The IL 4th District Coordinator for the Campaign for Liberty and other IL residents will be calling Congressman Gutierrez’s office on Friday, July 31, to encourage him to cosponsor HR1207.

To culminate the day of calling, we will meet at the Wicker Park Starbucks at 3:45 where we will organize and walk down to his office to deliver our HR1207 petitions. I would like to invite Libertarian members to join us in calling or visiting his office.
