Cook County Labor Day Tea Parade

photoThe Chicago Libertarian Party Meetup Group

Cook County’s Sales Taxes are out of control. The 10.25% retail sales tax rate in Chicago is the highest in the U.S!

Schaumburg’s 12% Bar & Restaurant Tax is the highest in the history of the nation!

It’s time we stand up and be heard. We’re not going to take it anymore. Sales taxes must come down before all of our retail business and jobs move to bordering counties and states.

Inspired by the Millions of citizens across the country who have participated in 1,000 of tea party parades & protests we will show our support for low taxes on Labor Day this year.

The Cook County Labor Day Tea Party Parade with the Schaumburg Freedom Coalition will be held at the Schaumburg Septemberfest Labor Day Parade Monday September 7, 2009.

Expected attendance for Schaumburg’s annual parade is close to 75,000 with many politicians and political parties involved.

Let’s get more people to line up with the Schaumburg Freedom Coalition to fight high taxes than all other political organization combined, and let them hear our low tax & fiscal responsibility message!

9:30 AM Parade Line Up (line up order TBD)
10 AM Parade Start
Parade will kick-off promptly at 10 am. Line-up will be on Wise Road between Roselle Road and Plum Grove Road at 9-9:30 am. Wise Road will close between Roselle and Plum Grove Roads at 9 am.

1151 S Roselle Rd, Schaumburg, IL 60193

End the Fed T-Shirt Purchase event

photoThe Chicago Libertarian Party Meetup Group

Not your normal meetup group event? Well, you could say that. This event is actually a week long process of getting people interested in purchasing black colored End the Fed t-shirts. Here is the link if you want to see what they look like, http://endthefed.us/o…

The idea is simple. If you are interested in purchasing one or more of the black shirts then reserve yes for this meeting and state the sizes and quantites that you are interested in. The price is going to be $16.00 per shirt regardless of quantity. Obviously the more we get the lower our price.

The idea here is is that, assuming we get over 12 shirts ordered, the Liberterian party will keep any difference between the $16.00 price and what they are actually purchased for (Based on quantity) minus shipping.

So if you choose to order a shirt through this event, you an pick them up at any of the meetings that the Libertarian party throws or if you work or live in the loop, please contact me and we can arrange a physical handoff of the shirts downtown. If you kow someone from the group that can grab them for you then just have them bring the money.

I will cut off orders by the end of the 24th of July at 7:00PM

When they arrive, I think it would be a good idea to have a tax protest/end the fed rally at a later date with everyone who ordered them wearing them while jogginh down the bike path on Lake Shore Drive some Saturday displaying the shirts so we could have mass impressions on all of lookers as they jog by. This is a great way to marke the concept of Liberty!

Thanks in advance for your support.

MEET THE CANDIDATE (GOVERNOR): ADAM ANDRZEJEWSKI

photoThe Chicago Libertarian Party Meetup Group

The first candidate to declare for Illinois Governor in 2010 was ADAM ANDRZEJEWSKI (And-GEE-eff-ski). Originally from Herscher, Adam announced his intention to seek the Republican nomination this spring and remains one of two declared candidates to date.

Adam began his career as an entrepreneur, co-founding a publishing company with his brother. After selling his shares, Adam followed a new path and spearhead the non-profit For the Good of Illinois http://www.forthegood…, the aim of which is to assist citizens in bringing the finances of their local taxing bodies online. During his tenure, nearly $1 billion in public funds was opened up to public scrutiny by placement online.

Adam’s life’s work is now his campaign slogan: "Every Dime. Online. In Real Time." Running as a reform candidate, he believes that we can’t begin to fix the problems facing our state until we can clearly see the problems. An opponent of tax increases, Adam has posted his own comprehensive plan to balance the budget @ his campaign website. http://www.adamforill….

A proponent of limited government, Adam also advocates:
* free-market competition, including for government contracts
* comprehensive, sincere ethics reform
* alternative education, i.e., private schools, charter schools and home schools
* civil liberties, i.e., gun rights, privacy rights (Real ID), personal health rights (he’d consider a bill legalizing medical marijuana), judicial rights (red light cameras), etc.

In a recent Illinois Review straw poll, the political newcomer claimed 32% of votes.(http://www.vizu.com/r…)
