All Illinois gun owners are invited to join in Illinois Gun Owners Lobby Day (IGOLD) in Springfield in 2010. This is an annual event where everyone goes to lobby` their representatives in the Illinois House and Senate. The ISRA is partnering with local and internet organizations in Illinois to increase attendance and make a bigger & better impression in Springfield. The other participating organizations are Illinois Carry and Champaign County Rifle Assoc. Get your local organization involved as well!

We will meet at the Prairie Capitol Convention Center – Doors open at 10:45 with the program set to begin at 11:45 am. We will have a legislative briefing, then we will all march to the Capitol Building to locate and talk with our representatives.

When & Where
Begins Wednesday, March 10, 2010, 11:45am

Starting Location:
10:30 am – Prairie Capitol Convention Center – Doors open
11:45 am – Get Ready to Rally!
12:00 pm – Prairie Capitol Convention Center – Legislative Briefing
1:00 pm – March to the Capitol to lobby Senators and Representatives, respectfully make our presence known in committee hearings that are in session
4:00 pm – Wrap up: Prairie Capitol Convention Center with legislators
5:00 pm – Buses depart (due to the later hour of the reception, the buses will not be staying)
6:00 to 8:00 pm – Reception with Legislators at Operating Engineers Local 965, 3520 E Cook St, Springfield, IL

Parking:
Several parking garages are located near the Convention Center. Metered on-street parking is available in the area. The meters accept quarters for up to a 9 hour period. More parking locations and a printable map available soon.

Lets start out the New Year right by helping our candidates raise money to get on the Ballot in 2010! You can help by attending of fundraiser on Jan 8th at the Rock Bottom Brewery in Chicago.

We will have a private room with a dedicated serving staff for 3 hours. In addition they will be able to provide us with 2 viewing screens so that we can show a movie during the event. Suggestions for movie titles are appreciated. 2 suggested so far are "The fall of the Republic" and "IOUSA".
We will need one individual to bring a laptop so we can play the DVD on their screens.

The price for this event is $40.00 and includes 3 hours of an all you can drink package.
The description of the drink package will be detailed on the bottom of this announcement.

They have full food service, so if people want to order dinner it will be available, but it is not included in the package.

The Rock Bottom Brewery is located near the corner of State and Grand. It is just steps away from the CTA Red line. There is a parking garage across the street but the restaurant recommended using their valet service which I believe is either $13 or $17 for the entire evening. Please RSVP by 12/29/2009 so that we will have an accurate head count. If we get over 45 people then we can request a larger room.

2010 Fundraiser to get our candidates on the ballot @ The Rock Bottom Brewery!

Join the Libertarian Party of Chicago for its annual Holiday Party on December 12th, right after Michael Badnarik’s class on the Constitution (which, if you have not been, you should try to attend – it is well worth it! – www.constitutionpreservation.org).

The party will feature book signings, a Meet and Greet with the LP Illinois slate for 2010, heavy hors d’oeuvres and plenty of holiday cheer.

The location is about a mile north of the Lincoln Restaurant. There is plenty of parking, and it is near the Brown Line Damen stop.

I look forward to seeing you on the 12th!

LP Chicago Holiday Party

Join us as at the LP Illinois Candidates Meet and Greet hosted at at 3 locations on December 5th.

In attendance will be:

• Lex Green (Running for Governor)
• Ed Rutledge (Running for Lieutenant Governor)
• Josh Hanson (Running for Secretary of State)
• Mike Labno (Running for US Senate)
• Julie Fox (Running for Comptroller) will be represented by Michael Fogelsanger (Activism Director LP Illinois)

All will make a ten minute presentation with five minutes of direct questions after. Once all candidates have finished we will open the floor for general questions as time permits. Please spread this to any and all groups you may think are interested.
