Libertarian Party Political ACTION! Committee
The Chicago Libertarian Party Meetup Group
Summer is drawing to a close and everyone is back in town (mostly). Electioneering for 2010 is beginning and we have laid the groundwork. For this meeting we have three things on the agenda:
1. We will plan our voter registration program. This will include:
A. Developing a strategy for which neighborhoods to target for voter registration;
B. preliminary design for materials to pass out at / in conjunction with voter registration;
C. Selecting a time and location for our first voter registration drive;
2. We will discuss known / expected candidates that advocate our views and identify concrete steps that we can AND WILL take to support our candidates. EVERY ONE OF US will leave with a commitment to perform some concrete action in support of a Libertarian or Libertarian leaning candidate.
3. We will identify potential Libertarian or Libertarian leaning candidates BY NAME and which office we think they should run for. Then, we will (I bet you can guess what’s coming next) identify concrete steps that we can AND WILL take to recruit these candidates. EVERY ONE OF US will leave with a commitment to perform some concrete action to recruit a Libertarian or Libertarian leaning candidate.
4. Additionally, we will open the floor to any and all questions, concerns, or great thoughts you may have. I look forward to seeing you all on August 6th!

This is a working Committee of the Libertarian Party of Chicago. We are not a discussion group. We encourage your participation, but be warned: if you show up you will be assigned work to do.
We will continue to discuss our action plan. In this meeting we will discuss the research we have already done, reassess the resources available to us and discuss achievable goals.

The Chicago Libertarian Party June Meetup
Libertarian Meetups > The Chicago Libertarian Party Meetup Group
All ages can attend.
The Chicago Libertarian Party starts its business meetings at 7pm. The business typically takes about an hour to get through, after which we stay around for a couple of hours socializing.
Feel free to show up any time after 6:00. The business portion of the meeting is open for everyone to attend. Now is a great time to get involved, as we work begin the groundwork for local elections in 2010.
The Lincoln Restaurant is near the intersection of Lincoln, Irving Park and Damen. There is parking, and I believe that the Irving Park brown line station is open again.

Libertarian Party Political Action Committee Meeting
Libertarian Meetups > The Chicago Libertarian Party Meetup Group
This meeting is for anybody who wants to put Liberty minded candidates into office in 2010! This is not a discussion group – we are here for ACTION! In this meeting we will:
1. Assess the resources available to us;
2. Assess the resources we can make available to us;
3. List the political forces arrayed against us, identifying their strengths and weaknesses;
4. List allies / potential allies, identifying their strengths and weaknesses;
5. List possible goals and assess requirements to achieve those goals;
6. Assign tasks to EVERYONE, who to report to and when.
All this will be done with an eye towards our May meeting where we will draft a declaration of objectives. From that day forward every member of this committee will know what it is we are working towards and what must be accomplished in order to get there.
Ready, set…
