Hello everyone,

This event is being organized so that we can bring the troops down to Bloomington, IL to help get Lex Green elected as the Mayor of Bloomington. It is a non partisan race which means no Dem or Rep in front of the candidates names, which is a big help. It is a three way race with the 4 candidate recently dropping out and giving his endorsement to Lex Green. That being said, this is a race we can win!! We will be handing out flyers and possibly putting flyers inside of mail boxes to get Lex’s name out there. The election is in early April so now is the time. Hope to see all of you there. If you need help coordinating rides down there please make comments on this page and we will see if we can help you. Amtrak also serves Bloomington.

To get there (if heading south) you will take the first exit in Bloomington (Veterans Parkway) and take that south to Clearwater Avenue…turn left onto Clearwater, then an immediate left into the shopping center (Strip mall) parking lot. We will meet by the Dollar Tree store.

The Libertarian National Committee holds its meetings in various locations, both for the convenience of its members, and to afford local residents the opportunity to attend. In March the LNC will hold its meeting in Rosemont.

The meetings are open to anyone and free to attend (except during executive sessions when the room is cleared). There is time for public comment at the beginning of the meeting on Sat and at the close of the meeting Sun. If someone who is not on the LNC would like to speak outside of the public comment segments, they need to ask permission via their LNC Regional Rep. The Rep then asks permission from the board on their behalf.

Details of the meeting are not yet available. On Saturday, the meeting normally starts at 8 am and finishes around 6 pm. Sunday they start at 8 or 9 a.m. and go to 3 pm or so. Typically Saturday a.m. is reports from the Chair, Vice Chair, Treasurer and Staff. Additional reports from various committees and regions may follow in the afternoon. Then they get to action items (like committee appointments) Saturday afternoon and take on ‘new business” on Sunday.

The meetings are scheduled to be held in the “Walden Room” on the 8th floor.

There will also be a Meet & Greet reception nearby on Friday or Saturday evening. Details will follow and a separate meetup will be posted.

Come join us for our last Monthly Meetup of the year. As a special treat, our friend Michael Badnarik will be in attendance. Michael was the Libertarian candidate for President in 2004, and has been a longtime friend of the Libertarian Party of Chicago.

This is not a lecture, but Michael will be more than pleased to share with you what he’s been up to since we saw him last, and, if all goes as planned, he will bring copies of his new book, Secret to Sovereignty. Not surprisingly, this book is available for barter for silver only. :)

Come spend an evening with your fellow Libertarians over one of those giant mugs of beer. (Or not.) There is a full dinner menu available. Actually, all ages can attend.

Feel free to show up any time after 6:00. The Lincoln Restaurant is near the intersection of Lincoln, Irving Park and Damen. There is parking in the back. They close at 10:00, but if some of you want to go elsewhere to continue the party, there are options nearby.

Also, start thinking about getting more involved in the party. Officer elections will be held at the January meeting, and all offices are up for election!

All ages can attend. Since our regular monthly meetup falls on election night, we decided to meet at Lincoln Restaurant. We’ll be in our regular room, at the regular time, but there will not be a business meeting. We will have the restaurant turn on the TV to whatever channel we choose.  Come watch the election results come in with your fellow Libertarians over one of those giant mugs of beer. (Or not.) There is a full dinner menu available.
